How to Do Your Banking
WGSB is committed to helping young people learn real world financial lessons before they have to make real world decisions.
How to Do Your Banking is a 7-part financial skills course, sponsored by the bank, and provided free of charge to area schools for 11th and 12th grade students. The program helps students learn valuable, practical financial lessons including the importance of saving, how to open and manage a checking account, making and sticking to a budget, and building and maintaining good credit. In addition to the workbook and video-based program, lessons are reinforced by in-class presentations by bank employees, upon request of teachers.
Since the program began in 1997, WGSB’s How to Do Your Banking Program has reached more than 11,600 local young people in northern New Hampshire and Vermont…and counting.
